Share the Dignity
On any given night in Australia, 1 in 200 people are homeless. 44% are women. 27% are children under the age of 18. Over 44,000 homeless women go without sanitary products every month.
Having read a news article about the number of homeless women going without basic sanitary items, an amazing SEQ local, Rochelle Courtenay, decided the question was not “why is no one doing anything” but rather “what’s stopping me from doing something?”. Thus launched Share the Dignity, an Australian Women’s charity bringing dignity to homeless, at -risk and women experiencing domestic violence through distribution of sanitary items. Launching in 2015, over the last 3 years, they’ve been able to collect over 1.1 million sanity items from across Australia.
This April, we’re partnered with Share the Dignity with the aim of collecting donations of sanitary items to be donated to women in need.
HOW TO DONATE:
1. Purchase any sanitary item on your next grocery shop
2. Place in the donations box outside Coles
